Super Surprise Weekend!

It has been a work in progress for many months and the plan finally came together this past weekend for daddy's surprise birthday party! Justin and mommy had secretly invited daddy's family, friends and co-workers to celebrate his special day at Conor O'Neill's. Justin worked very hard to keep this a secret and was super excited to see everyone as well as meet some new people.

Daddy wasn't the only one to get gifts....Grammy & Grampy Hawes and Uncle Brian were visiting and brought Justin a special present. Check out his new Detroit Tigers hat. He's very eager for the season to begin!

As you can see, Justin helped make daddy's birthday cake. He also did a little frosting taste test (just a little one of course.) In the end, he was a little distracted by his toys....

Here is a picture of daddy, baby Justin and mommy at the birthday party! Daddy sure was surprised! Justin was a little sleep by this point, kind of dazed and confused. :)

Weekend Trip to Grand Rapids

This past weekend we went and visited our friends, Mike & Tracy, as well as the newest addition to their family, baby James. Mike & Tracy are Justin's God parents (in addition to Teresa) and it just so happens Justin and James are best of buds! It was our first over night trip with Justin in a new place with another baby being there. It was interesting to watch how they interacted and responded to each others noises. When one would cry the other would get fussy. When one woke up at night the other usually did also, although Justin normally went right back to sleep unless he was hungary. We also visited Grandma and Grandpa Hawes for lunch before we came home on Saturday to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. He is now 63 1/2 years older than Justin! :)
