Milestones....moving right along....

Justin will be turning 8 months old this upcoming weekend (of course we will be bringing you his monthly bath photos) and that little bundle of joy we brought home is definately turning into a bubbly big boy!

Justin has moved to Gerber foods, stage 2 and is starting to want to help feed himself. He is a long way from doing it on his own, but he loves to help guide the spoon to his mouth. He is very independent when it comes to drinking out of his bottle. He LOVES juice and water with ice!

Physically, Justin is 18 pounds and 5 oz and we haven't measured his length lately, but we know he has a VERY long torso because he's already wearing 9-12 month old onesies and clothes! He has more hair and it's coming in quite thick, blond & straight, but with a hint of red in the sunlight. He isn't into crawling, in fact he seems to want to try and walk. He can stand and walk around with assistance and seems to be getting frustrated he cannot do it on his own so we spend quite a bit of time practicing. Of course he is sitting up on his own and likes to play like a big boy with his toys.

Mentally, Justin is starting to go through the stanger anxiety phase. He is also noticing that mommy and daddy have to go to work...He does NOT like this one bit....It's super hard on mommy to watch him cry and put his arms out for her when she leaves for work (oh, we didn't mention that...he can put his arms out to express he wants you to hold him too!) But it makes it all worth it when she comes home and his arms come up and he has the biggest smile on his face!

Justin has learned to move his head side to side (shaking his head no). He likes to play the yes and no game. Ask us about it and he is sure as happy to show you how to play! He is also happy to show you that he can clap his hands and dance along to music!

Finally, Justin had a rough couple of weeks. He was back in the ER. He goes to daycare one day a week to have a little interaction with other babies and to hang with his good buddy Will. Well, daycare called us and Justin was vomiting and had a slight fever. He also wouldn't take a bottle and he hadn't had any wet diapers. After calling our doctor they told us to bring him to the ER. We were there pretty much the entire night. They gave him a catheter and antibiotic shots and did a urine culture. Poor little guy was miserable and had a UTI and kidney infections. He's still not feeling 100% but he is doing so much better! That was a rough time for Justin AND mommy and daddy! Our hearts broke when we saw him have to get that catheter!

We have a busy next couple of months so the blog will be jammed packed with fun, so stay tuned. Next up will be his 8 month bath photos! Take Care and thanks for reading!

A walk through campus.......

We had really nice weather last Friday. It was about 60 degrees and sunny so we packed up the stroller and Justin and took him for a walk through the EMU campus. We even took Scouty dog with us. The campus is really beautiful with it's 2 ponds (which were still frozen) and the lakehouse and the amazing new student center. The Ypsi Fire Department was using one of the ponds to practice ice water rescue training so we sat and watched; it was pretty interesting. As you can see Justin really enjoyed himself and we enjoyed spending a little quality time together :)
