Justin's Crib and House Pictures

We thought you might like to check out Justin's nursery and his new crib! Proud dad to be and his supervisor, Scout worked long and hard to put the crib together. I think they did a great job! Unfortunately, we have to wait for the rest of the baby furniture to be shipped to the store this weekend and then we can pick it up. I have also added a very terrible picture of me fresh out of bed and showing off "the bump". I have also included a few pictures of the house and I plan to add more later! For now, enjoy!

Baby Blog Satisfaction ;)

Hi everyone-
We've been getting many inquiries as to why this blog isn't updated everyday. Well, we are at a point in the pregnancy that it is mostly a waiting game. But, to satisfy your baby Justin update cravings I can share a few little things....

Justin is now the size of an eggplant :) If you visit www.thenest.com and click on the babies section it has all kinds of fun baby information including weekly fruit and veggie size updates. It's kind of fun.

Steven and I developed our birth plan and we have registered with the hospital for when we go into labor so when we get there we have the VIP treatment ;) Feel free to check out our hospital:

We had a visit to the doctor last week and Justin is doing great and is right on schedule. His heartbeat is nice and strong. Might I add so are his kicks which happen to keep me up many of nights. Just little reminders of, "Hey mom, I'm still here!" :)
Meet our awesome doctor! (Dr. Archer)

I just ordered the invitations for the Ann Arbor baby shower which is May 24th. We are registered at www.babiesrus.com

We have a 3D/4D Keepsake Appointment the first week in June which is really amazing. We can meet Justin before he is born. Very vivid and up close pictures of the little guy. We get 4 color pictures and a dvd.
Check out the information!

I think that is about it for now. Other than the migranes I have been battling, life is good and we keep on trucking, marking off each day that is closer to meeting our little buddy! We will touch base with any other updates as they come forward! Take care!

It's a boy!

We can finally stop referring to our precious bundle of joy as Baby Hawes and/or "It". We are happy to announce and welcome baby boy Justin Hawes. We are still working on a middle name. Current favorites from the choosing are Alexander, Issac or Steven's Grandpa Tokarski's middle name of Kashmeir (please excuse the spelling, I am not quite sure on it, but we will be finding it out!) Steven's grandpa was a HUGE Tiger's fan and very dedicated to the game. Steven hear he is much like his grandfather and sadly he never was able to meet him because he passed away before Steven was born. We thought it would be a nice way to remember him and Justin is already named after Justin Verlander so we thought that maybe we should keep the baseball theme a-going! We're anxious to hear your thoughts, so please feel free to chime in. We'll be posting some pictures from the ultrasound later tonight, so please feel free to take a peek later. From what we can tell he is adorable! Of course, with beautiful parents like us it's expected right?! ;)

We have started registering so if you would like check out our Babies R Us registry! You can look under either of out names-Jenni or Steven Hawes.

That is it for now! We'll post the photos tonight! Maybe even some of how the house construction is going if we have the time!

PS This is not an April Fools-Tis the real thing!

Easter Weekend

Here we are, Easter weekend and our apartment and house are in shambles as we pack/unpack/complete construction. Grandma and Grandpa Hawes are here to visit and Grandpa Hawes is staying for a few weeks to work on the house for us. Uncle Brian is coming for a week next week to help too. We will then finally be able to start moving the "big stuff" into the house!

Tomorrow is Easter and I am making a nice Easter brunch for all of us. Auntie Teresa is coming for dinner all the way from Kalamazoo too(we can't wait to see her!)

We can't wait for everyone to come visit when the house is all said and done. Infact, Grandma Kapla & Auntie Erin are throwing Baby Hawes a baby shower May 24th here in Ann Arbor. So, we are hoping some of you will see the house then. Grandma Hawes and Aunt Gail are throwing a shower in June in Fremont. We're very excited!

Only one more week until we find out is Baby Hawes is a he or she! We can't wait to find out whether we should be shopping for pink or blue!

Sleepless Nights

I thought sleepless nights occured AFTER the baby was born, but here I am just beginning my 5th month and I can't sleep for the life of me. I really do want to sleep, but all the pillows in the world can help me get comfortable. It is times like these it doesn't bother me that Steven works 3rd shift. I would be keeping him up all hours of the night. I literally have to sleep in the middle of the bed in the most awkward positions, not to mention the tossing and turning. I am a stomach sleeper naturally so this whole having to sleep on my left side is killing me. So, I thank you for letting me vent. I am sure it won't help me sleep better but I am happy to share the joys of pregnancy. :)
Baby is doing well though. We have an appointment at the doctor next Tuesday and of course on the 31st we have the exciting gender appointment. Ta-ta for now!
PS I started my spring and summer wardrobe this weekend shopping. How exciting!

Family Birthing Center Tour

Last night we had a tour of the Family Birthing Center as well as the Mother-Baby Unit of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital here in Ann Arbor. This is where we will be bringing our little bundle of joy into the world. We were very impressed to say the least. The Family Birthing Center is brand new and very relaxing! All mothers have their own room with a jacuzzi tub or jacuzzi shower. The room has a tv, dvd player, cd player, refridgerator and an extra bed for dad to sleep in. The rooms are individually temperature controlled and everything for baby and birth is in the room. I've included a link where you can see a video tour of the rooms if you are interested.
http://www.sjmercyhealth.org/body.cfm?id=136 To see the video look on the right hand side of the site screen.

We've also signed up for a our Childbirth Education classes which will be every Tuesday evening in June! Lots of fun stuff! Enjoy the tour!

As we come closer to the due date we will be posting specific information regarding visitors and where in the hospital to go to see us and baby!

Baby Hawes has a new home!

It's official! We are homeowners! We are in the process of moving to 920 Pearl Street Ypsilanti 48197. Our apartment lease is up in June so we are slowly moving over and over the next couple of weeks we will be doing some painting and fixing up of the place! We are very excited to start on the baby's nursery and we'll know in a few short weeks what color to paint :)

The past week has been insanely busy with closing on the house, starting to pack as well as Grandma and Grandpa Kapla visiting. (We had a lot of fun!) It was also a long week becasue I had the flu! :(

Grandma and Grandpa Hawes are coming to visit for Easter and Grandpa Hawes will be helping us with the painting and ect.

Life will continue to be busy the next few weeks but we'll keep you posted!
