Catch Up Blog....

We're sorry we haven't had much time to blog as often as we would like, but we're dealing with a lot of organized chaos. :P It mainly has to do with Steven and I trying to balance family and work. We're finally coming into a nice routine...sort of.....November is my busiest month, work wise, with the UM vs OSU Blood Battle. Typically I am out of commission and comatose the entire month and work pretty long and wacky hours. Yea!.............I love the excitement of the whole event, but yet dread it at the same time...It's a love-hate relationship :) This year I have a really nice support system from my friends and co-workers who are chipping in to help. I'll still be working a ton, but it will leave me more time for my boys.

This past week we took Justin and had a long weekend visit to see Grammy & Grampy Hawes. Boy, did we have fun. Friday we all got together with Steven's high school friends for a little "party". I use the word party pretty loosely in that this party looked like an episode of Romper Room. Most of us have kids so we all brought them. Of a group of 18 people there was 1 pregnant couple, one couple with a week old baby girl, one couple with 3 toddlers and of course Justin. We had a great time and this was the first time I really got to know Steven's friends and their wives. I hope we all get together again real soon. Don't mind the date on the pictures, forgot to reset it when we reinstalled the battery.

***Here's a picture of Cole giving Justin a little love...so sweet!***

We spent a lot of time outdoors at the park. It was a beautiful weekend with peak colors!

We had intended to take Justin with us to the Ferris State University Homecoming Game (Steven's alma mater), but we decided it was pretty chilly, so Justin got to hang out with Grammy & Grampy as well as Maggie & Toni dogs while we went tailgating and watched the game.....

Me tailgating at FSU and riding the bull! Daddy cheering on in the Dawg Pound.
GO BULLDOGS!!

It was a long and exciting weekend...........Steven and Justin were sleepy!

Finally it was time to go home on Sunday...It's so hard to say goodbye to Grammy & Grampy :(

10 Week Videos & Photos

It's hard to believe our little guy is 10 weeks old already! Here's a video of Justin working up a sweat during tummy time. And after all that hard work was a relaxing soak in the tub. Doesn't he get more and more handsome everyday?!

A disappointing football weekend, but fun with the fam!

I'm sure you have caught on by now that Justin loves football......and pretty much all other sports! This weekend was pretty tough in that all of our football teams lost! UM, Packers and Lions!
On a positive note the Red Wings won their exhibition game the other night! And that made us all happy! We're so glad the regular season starts Thursday!
Today we went to Aubree's to watch the Packer game and we shot a couple shots of Justin with his die hard Packer-Fan grandparents....
Disclaimer....Grandma and Grandpa Kapla are not fans of Aaron Rodgers, but they still love their Packers despite this slight flaw. :)
Justin and Grandma on college game day, "Go Blue!"

Justin just witnessed an interception...He wasn't happy!

The Week in Review

Monday, Justin had a doctor's appointment and he received his first set of shots. 4 shots, all at once, in the thighs to be exact........Justin cried.........Mommy cried.........It was hard and sad but we made it through it. He had a few side effects to the shots including a low grade fever, sore, red legs and was just plain irritable. Poor little guy :( We're happy to report he is feeling much better and is back to being smiley and happy.

Wednesday was mommy's first day back to work and it was a pretty tough day for her. She cried all the way to work but held it together throughout the day. She surrounded her desk with photos of Justin and each day she goes in it gets a little easier. It also has made her appreciate her time she does have with him even more. Daddy brought Justin in to see mommy at work today and it completely made her day!

Now that the weekend is here we're not sure what we are going to do. Hopefully we will be spending time outside enjoying the fall weather! Hooded sweatshirt weather is the best! And Justin has a nice supply of them!
