A Visit to the Land of Cheese (and NO! not California)

Memorial Weekend we made our way to visit mommy's side of the family in

Marinette, WI/Menominee, MI (famously known as Menominette. You see, the city/state lines boarder each other). It was so nice to spend time with the family and catch up since we only get up there once a year. Although, we have a goal to increase those visits in the future!

Of course, Justin was the center of attention and he has his great-grandparents wrapped around his little finger. It was a great visit for mommy as well....Over the years as a kid you always see grandma and grandpa and associate them with fun times, special treats and many adventures. Now that mommy is older it is still just as special, but it's even more special when she hears amazing stories about how her grandma and grandpa grew up....how they met and fell in love, how life was before their 6 kids came along and even what life was like for them when they were children. Every moment we have with them we cherish and fully enjoy and it brings us the most joy everytime we see their faces light up when they see little Justin.
Justin was "officially" initiated into the Johnston side of the family. It's a long time tradition to take a ride on grandpa's tractor or lawn mower and roam around the back 40. As you can see, Justin had a great time!

We went for a hike to Potato Rapids where it is peaceful and beautiful...And we also enjoyed a party at great-grandma and grandpa J's house afterward.

While mommy and daddy went out one evening with some of her cousins and Aunty Teresa Justin got to spend some quality time with mommy's cousin Chelsey who babysat with Great-Grandma & Grandpa J....

Justin immediately fell in love with great-grandma's piano...Mommy has many fond memories sitting at that piano and playing as a child and it was wonderful to see Justin had the same love for it as well....

We had an great time and we have so many other great photos but there just isn't enough space to post them all....It was very bittersweet when it was time to head back to MI....mommy always cries as they drive away because she was so sad to leave...and Justin did to. But now we have our next trip back to look forward to!
